We collect information you provide directly to us, including:
- Account information: name, email address, and password when you register
- Language preferences: the languages you speak and read, used to set up the app and your translations
- Content you translate: text you type, photos you upload, and documents you upload for translation
- Conversations: messages sent through Live Conversation and invited Contact threads
- Contacts: names, phone numbers, and email addresses of contacts you add or invite
- Reminders and calendar items: dates, amounts, and notes you save or that are extracted from your translated documents
- API keys: your own Anthropic and/or OpenAI API keys, which are encrypted before storage and never shown again in full after you save them
- Payment information: billing details processed securely through Stripe
We also automatically collect certain information when you use the Service:
- Device information: device type, operating system, and browser
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, and time spent in the app
- Log data: IP address and app error reports
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Process transactions and send related information including confirmations and receipts
- Send administrative messages, security alerts, and (if you choose) reminder alerts about your own saved dates
- Respond to your comments and questions
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized activity
- Comply with legal obligations
Your Content and Your AI Provider
Translations, conversations, and documents you submit are sent to your own connected Anthropic and/or OpenAI account for processing, using your own saved API key. We do not use your content to train any AI model. Your API keys are encrypted at rest and are never displayed in full or sent back to your browser after being saved.
Guest and Invited Contact Accounts
If you invite someone to an ongoing conversation thread, that person creates a limited, free guest account that can only access their conversation with you. Guest accounts do not have their own API keys, cannot access your other data (documents, reminders, contacts, or Briefing), and are not visible to anyone but you and them.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
Payment Processing
Payments are processed through Stripe, Inc. We do not store full card numbers. Stripe's privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy.
Sharing of Information
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only:
- With service providers (Supabase, Stripe, and your own connected Anthropic/OpenAI account) who assist in operating the Service
- If required by law or to protect our legal rights
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
- With your consent
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Opt out of promotional emails by clicking "unsubscribe" in any email
Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. Deletion permanently removes your documents, conversations, contacts, and related records, except information we must retain for legal or accounting compliance.
Children's Privacy
Flip Ledger Translator is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
